President’s Daily Diary

I have decided to try and update the blog on an ‘almost’ daily basis as the season approaches. It will probably be extremely boring for most of you but hey, here goes. The aim? To give the reader an idea of what issues are dealt with on an ongoing basis when running an umpire association.

I put together the agenda for the DHUA AGM (Sunday 18 September at 11am) and the umpire coaching event following (12.30pm) when Exeter University (on their return to the top flight) play Reading in the EHL Premier League; emailed this to the committee for comment before publishing.

Also started to update the Neutral and Area Pools based on the recommendations and updated criteria from the DHUA Selection and Coaching Committee chaired by Keith Dingle.

Finally, I was informed by London 2012 that a Devon Umpire I nominated to carry the Olympic Flame was unsuccessful.
